When I saw “7 Fresh, New Ways To Wear An Oxford Shirt” on Refinery29, I thought I had nothing to learn about button downs. We all know that I wear them constantly and in what I thought was every way imaginable. Was it possible that I could be wearing them with even more? Bam! First slide: a sweatshirt over an oxford. Why didn’t I think of that? For my spin on this combination, I layered this cutoff sweatshirt over a sheer, pale pink oxford. I absolutely adore this look; it felt edgy but soft at the same time.
The jeans were the result of a DIY project from a few weeks ago. I was inspired by Beth of B. Jones Style and her DIY Acne Pop Trash jeans, so I used her post as a guide to slashing and shredding this pair. I’m a bit of a DIY newbie; I mostly stick to DIY manicures, which isn’t much of a DIY at all, is it? I’m really just saying, “I painted my own nails”. It took me hours to slash up these jeans, and after one wash, they weren’t quite as I had hoped. This isn't easy! A bit more slashing and another wash should do the trick, but in the meantime, I decided to wear them. And, I actually got quite a few compliments on them…

Love the sweater layered over the button down - definitely a new way to wear them and this looks so cute!

Haha, I love that it's an oxford shirt and a sweatshirt… covered in sequins! Looks great! I'm also really into the DIY jeans. I like that they're a bit more subtle than the Acne version.
Thanks, Courtney! This kinda makes me want to buy more sweatshirts... ;)
Haha, I love it, too! It made me laugh!
I kinda want to start slashing everything in my closet...though I think I need a bit more practice. I like the way these turned out as well, and I think they'll keep getting better as I wash them.
Love this combination. I'm also a big fan of the collared shirt. And your Shotwell ring is great--RIP (she wipes away a tear).
The DIY jeans look great! Very B.Jones and also reminds me of The Man Repeller!
Pouring some out for Shotwell. It was like walking into where the cool girls shop...the ones who never look like they try too hard.
Thank you!
Best top ever and I am heading over asap to find those great DIY jeans ideas.
Thanks for the inspiration!!!
