Sweater: Zara
Shirt: Sparrow (Urban Outfitters)
Jeans: Rich & Skinny (Nordstrom)
Shoes: Nine West
Watch: Michael Kors (Nordstrom)
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (a gift)
I saw this sweater at Zara on my second trip to the sale (I’ve since gone again); it was a no-brainer. Not only is it striped but I can also file it under “Celtics pride” – perfect. (If you’re new to Style by Santina, my love for the Celtics sometimes intersects with my closet in looks like this and this.) The stripes were begging for another print, and this black and white gingham was an easy choice. My boyfriend jeans fit the boyish vibe while a pair of pointy toe heels and shiny bag kept it feminine.
Just a few days after I snapped these pics, I saw that this month’s Everybody, Everywear challenge is mixed prints. Perfect timing! After hesitantly giving mixed prints a try, I now love layering clashing prints and look forward to lots of printed layers this fall…or, you know, now in San Francisco.

Love the stripes and gingham - they are perfect together!
And I understand the celtics thing. During hockey season, I incorporate A LOT of blue and yellow into my outfits to show my Sabres pride.

Thanks, Holly! And, I'm so happy to hear you have a Sabres section in your closet - there's no reason a girl can't still look chic while supporting her favorite team!
Thanks, Courtney! I actually bought another striped sweater that same day...it's an addiction, I tell ya.
Thanks, Veronika!
Well, that makes two of us. I can't stop buying stripes!
Thanks, Chelsea. I'm actually feeling like I need a trim and a color touch-up so I appreciate that!
This is darling...you're already putting my EBEW outfit to shame. :(
Such a cute go-to look Santina! I love the gingham/stripe mix + aren't bf jeans the best? I have those in a dark wash and love them...even better than sweats :)
Eep, this is so cute! The layering of the plaid & stripes is awesome, I love it!
I love everything about this look! The stripes and gingham work perfectly together and I love your take on a classic silhouette
I love this. the layered shirts and tousled hair! Sexy!
For some reason, I always think pattern mixing has to involve florals, but I really like what you've done here. So simple and clean and coordinated. You are one smart cookie :)
I love the two prints together. They work really well together. I can't believe Ohio is having a crazy hot summer, and you guys are practically in fall mode.
I am so copying this look as soon as possible. Seriously.

Mixed prints rock my world! And I love those stilettos paired with yours!
I love this whole outfit, Santina!! Double exclamation points for emphasis. Your layering came together so well, and I reeeeeeeally want a pair of jeans like yours to wear with heels. CLASSY. :)
love it! your sweater & shirt work wonderfully together.
@stylebysantina I like you preppy spin on the #EBEW mixed prints challenge. I will have to incorporate it in my wardrobe. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love how you made pattern mixing look perfectly classic! :)

I love the shirt and sweater combo! What a great way to mix patterns. I'm also diging the boyfriend jeans with sexy pumps look. Nice way to balance the outfit. Kudos!
very cute! I would have never thought to do something like this.
I LOVE this! You look great! Love your mixed prints, and super cute hair!!!!
Very cute, such a great combo of prints! I'm in the Bay Area too. :)
I love the striped shirt with the collar peeking out. You look really great!

Allright- we both know I love this! Gingham and plaid seems obvious but no, it is FRESH! and brilliant! I love the added girlish charm of the pumps with the rolled up jeans to counter balance the collegiate vibe of the sweater and shirt.
You are gorgeous. And your 'fit is really classic and chic too!
