Bleach And Bow Ties

Sunglasses: Ray Ban (Saks)

Notice anything different about me? Yeah, I dyed my hair. With the exception of a brief moment of doubt after a few tweets from Merl, I couldn’t wait to dye my hair again. My natural color just isn’t me. I needed white hair again. What do you think? I won’t lie; I’m sort of in love with it.

This was actually the second outfit of the day. I spent most of the day wandering the seemingly endless rows of everything from spare doll limbs (creepy!) to pristine vintage clothing to gorgeous handcrafted furniture at the Alameda Flea Market with Eli. I was prepared with comfortable shoes, but I was not prepared for how hot it was outside of San Francisco! By the time we were back in the city, all I could think about was a cool shower and some fresh clothes. Enter outfit two. Once I put on my new oxfords, the rest came together with only one thought: another bow tie. I threw on this bow tie necklace and was out the door.

You look so pretty with your newly bleached hair!  And the outfit is too  perfect.  I love the little bow tie accents and then the punch of red from you bag:)

So I take it, you didn't buy the bits and pieces from the flea market?  Wouldn't they look cool in an apothecary jar sitting on your coffee table?  hehe..

I love it! Seriously, you look so good with that color -- and don't even get me started on the little bow tie necklace and the oxfords.

RAWR! i miss my blonde hair some days (tho i do find the darrrrrrrrrrrk blonde - yeah im in denial, i wanna still be a blonde - is flattering on me) BUT if i cut it every month or 2, i cant justify paying for the color! its such a conundrum. (hopefully i didnt spell that wrong)
your hair looks amazing. i love love love it :)
you have been so good with outfit pics! i havent done any in weeks.

Damn you. First you have the most adorable pixie cut that I could never pull off. Then you go and dye your hair my dream color. IT'S NOT FAIR SANTINA. In my high school graduation photo I actually look like I have super blonde hair [but more yellow, not the dreamy white you have] that was a result of over highlighting it. You haven't seen weird til you see a chick with blonde hair and red roots growing in. I'm so bored with mine right now, and even though it's longer than it's been in YEARS it's so thin that I never wear it down without the wiiv in. I'm feeling like something drastic might happen when I get settled in Chicago.. new city, new look right? '

bottom line: I love it.

Nope, no doll limbs for me, but there's always next time! I did buy a cheerful vintage pin and two letters cut from salvaged metal though...

Thanks, Courtney! Bleaching can be a stressful process, especially when going to a new stylist for the first time, but I absolutely love the color!

Thanks, Emily. It means a lot coming from someone with such fabulous hair!

As for the outfit pics, I'm just trying to ramp up after those lazy nine months in Mexico...and I start work tomorrow, and who knows what will happen then? :)

Phew, you like it. I was worried for a minute after all those tweets about my natural color (ick!). Sooooo, now that you told me about it, I REALLY want to see this graduation photo - pleeeeeeease?!?!

I think a new city calls for new hair. Hey, that's what I did! I would love to see you with something a little shorter. Your face is too beautiful to compete with too much hair!

Thanks, Merl! Now come see this pixie in real life okay?

And with this comment, I think I've brought all three of the natural voters to the white side...yes! :)

I love it! Of course the natural colors were gorgeous, but once you go bleached it's hard to settle for anything else, no? ;)

Great pictures, but honestly, all I can do is laugh about you being hot outside of SF.  It was 105 at my parents house yesterday, and when I checked, 65 in SF.

Oh girl, this looks good. I'll admit I had a little trepidation when I saw your mid-salon tweets (I was a quiet fan of your natural color too!), but that white blond looks so killer on you. As another with an itchy trigger finger hairstyle-wise, I totally understand that creeping urge to change things up, and it has definitely paid off for you. :)

(And if I can find them, I will have to share with you some photos of the one time I tried to go platinum. It was, shall we say... less successful. )

Look at you!! I love the new hair! Can't wait to see it in person. I'm totally jealous of your Alameda outing wtih Eli, I've been trying to make it there almost every month since I moved here. Maybe next month is finally my time!

It does seem very "you" -- and very cute! It looks a little like Michelle Williams.

I really like the white, which is perfect on you.

Thanks, Amy. I am loving it!

Ah, it's so true. Nothing is ever the same as white, is it? I really feel like my hair is meant to be white. I've tried every color you can think of, and I just needed white hair again!

I know we already talked about this, but it WAS really hot at the Alameda Flea - over 100!

Santina said...

Thanks! Me too! :)

Thanks, Emily. I'm so happy that I pleased all of you natural color fans!

Ohhhh, I really want to see some pics!

You were definitely missed at the Alameda Flea although I wouldn't be too sad. It was so hot that we couldn't make it all the way through! I'd love to go again...

Thanks! I definitely feel more like myself.
