Get dressed already!

Shirt: Forever 21
Shorts: H & M
Necklace: Clyde’s Rebirth
Sandals: DV by Dolce Vita (Urban Outfitters)

Hey there! Remember me? Yeah, I know. I’ve been slacking with outfit posts. Truth be told, I haven’t really been getting dressed much, which isn’t to say I’ve been wandering around naked. It’s just that when I’m not scouring the internet for jobs and apartments, I’m soaking up as much beach time as possible and bikini pics aren’t really my thing. Determined to get back on track, I left the beach while there was still some light left to the day and quickly got ready for outfit photos followed by dinner at my favorite restaurant in town. To reward my efforts, Mother Nature turned the beautifully sunny day into a slightly overcast, extremely humid evening. Thanks.

While I will be happy to give the clothes I brought with me a long rest when I’m joyously reunited with my closet (not to mention my penchant for shopping), I do not see myself saying goodbye to these shorts any time soon. I love them. Last time I wore them with soft neutrals, so this time I went in a darker direction with this black asymmetrical hem tee, which is kept feminine by the lace inset along the shoulders and back. The neckline begged for a fabulous necklace, and my Clyde’s Rebirth choker was the obvious choice. I finished off the look with a studded pair of black sandals but really I was longing for heels. Ah, heels…soon enough.

I'm not sure which I envy more: you casual beach outfits, or the actual beach behind you! I can't wait for my next beach vacation......no more ugly cover-ups for me! You've totally inspired me to find REAL casual outfits that aren't so cliche "beachwear"!

Santina, you are so cute! These shorts are perfect for the beach. Did you paint your toes orange or peach? I love them! And this Clyde's Rebirth necklace is gorgeous!

Thanks for commenting! I assure you that I have my fair share of beachwear that doesn't make it to the blog. My go to cover-ups are rompers from Victoria's Secret - love them!

Merl is one talented lady! If you haven't already, you should check out her blog; it's one of my favorites! http://clydesrebirth.blogspot.com/

Those are great shorts. I think you will get lots of use out of them in California.

Mother Nature is one fickle bitch, for sure. I do really like these shorts, they look like they're as comfy as boxers too!

I love these shorts too! They look so cute on you. I would kill to be laying on a beach right now. Drink a margarita or two and soak up some rays for me, please?

Seriously, I know I probably sound like a broken record but your face is so damn pretty it hurts. And the the dirty blonde mop is perfect. PERFECT I say. Every time I see you in that necklace, it makes me happy.. 1: because you deserved to win, and 2: because it looks amazing on you, and you wear it all the diff ways! I may have to borrow it when I come to SF.. ;)

Thank you so much! My toes are orange; it's Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Sun Kissed - fitting, right?

Santina said...

Hmmmm, I think I could do that, but only for you, Natalie! :)

Awww, Merl. You always make me feel so pretty, especially since I think I look a bit tired (and maybe a touch greasy - hello again, humidity!) in these pics! I still can't thank you enough for this necklace. I love, love, love it! Buy a ticket to SF...I'll be happy to let you borrow it!

I can't wait to see you transition back into city chic, it's so exciting!
And you did NOT tell me about your drunken debauchery days in Montreal! :) Maybe we ran into eachother in a bathroom lineup way back when. haha.
Montreal IS pretty amazing, I'd like to do some posts on the different parts of the city.

I didn't realize how long it had been since outfit pics. Your hair is looking so much darker (not bad, just an observation!!). I'm also really liking these shorts. I have a terrible shopping pattern where I buy shorts, but then never really wear them. I think this could be remedied if they had a fun pattern. Ok, now stop reading comments and go back to apartment and job hunting and move to San Francisco already!!

You know, one think I NEVER anticipated moving to SF was how chilly it is a lot of the time. Nighttime is down right cold even if it's nice in the day. They say summer doesnt start til September! So many of my shorts and skirts are spent worn with tights on, and that's fine.

Good luck in your job search!

I'm in love with your previous post with the beautiful bougainvillea plant! You look remarkable next to it, not to mention the kitty :)
