Don’t you hate it when you feel like you’re happy with life and the decisions you’ve made only to have someone (figuratively) bitch slap you across the face, chipping away at that happiness even if only temporarily? Me, too. While I do my best not to relinquish power over my happiness to others, there are times when the actions of others do get to me a bit. After a few days of wallowing, I decided to snap out of it. This time in my life is far too precious to allow others to ruin it for me. I feel so very fortunate to be able to take a break from the life so many others are slaves to, and I am determined to soak up every moment.
I’m sure that those of you who have read Style by Santina for a while aren’t surprised to see that while trying to pull myself out of a slump I reached for stripes. Not only is this skirt striped, but it’s also in one of my favorite color combinations: black and white. Half-dressed and I was already feeling more like myself. I added a black v-neck tee and rolled the sleeves a few times. This monochromatic look begged for a pop of color, and I decided to add it (and another print) with a scarf. While I have mostly moved on from the break-in, there really isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t curse the bastard who stole nearly all of the jewelry I brought with me here. Luckily, I packed a few scarves, which are a great alternative to a necklace. To finish off this look, I added what has quickly become my favorite pair of shoes that I have here: my pink patent boat shoes. I still can’t believe I actually debated returning these shoes. What was I thinking?
